I purchased this on a whim that it would do the job for my wife's car. I had purchased a camera for my car a year or so ago and it's a nice extra piece of mind while driving to have things recorded. For that camera I went all out and made sure it had a GPS base to track location and speed but ultimately disabled both of those features and opted just for a time stamp. With that in mind this camera fit the bill perfectly.
The packaging is very plain but well done with clearly translated instructions included for the basic uses of the camera. Even with the properly translated instructions I was able to get the camera up and running without any issues. Image quality is very clear and the angle of recording means you'll get a fender to fender view of what's in front of you.
I tested things out with a 32GB Class-10 MicroSD card formatted inside the camera and had no problem getting things working immediately. Like all good dash cams the device will turn off/on with the car as long as it's connected to the accessory (cigarette lighter) of the car. A five minute recording clocks in at about 700MB at full resolution and the camera will loop to delete older, unlocked, recordings meaning I'll get about four hours of video before the oldest videos are erased with that card.
If you need a basic camera for the car and don't want to go broke this is a great choice.
